PML precision air chucks are available in a wide variety of designs.
Our PML precision air chucks are used in applications where maximum accuracy and process reliability are required. The applications are very wide-ranging. In the turning sector, these chucks are particularly suitable for thin-walled workpieces that must not be deformed. These chucks have also proven themselves very well in hard machining.
PML precision air chucks are available in various designs, such as 2-, 3- and 4-jaw chucks with or without coolant through-hole. The sealed version is specially designed for grinding machines. Their design also makes them ideal for dividing heads and automation.
The PML air chucks have an internal actuating piston in the chuck body that triggers the stroke movement of the jaws. This internal piston means that no pull cylinder is required on the machine. Only a rotary feed-through needs to be attached to the rear of the machine spindle so that the compressed air required for clamping and unclamping is fed to the chuck. Depending on requirements, the rotary feed-through can be designed with 2 or 3 ports for an additional medium such as cooling water or air. The clamping jaws are available as blanks in various designs and are machined directly on the machine to suit the specific part. There are block jaws and segment jaws in steel and aluminum and in heights of 25 - 100 mm.
